The "Black Cat" concept is set to make a comeback in the near future, showcased on the upcoming Air Jordan 4 RM.
Although the specifics of this new iteration have not yet been officially announced by Jordan Brand, several notable changes are evident.
Ret the original Air Jordan 4 design from 1989 as its foundation, the revamped model features a completely overhauled upper. Departing from the mid-top leather construction, the Air Jordan 4 RM boasts a considerably lower cut and introduces new materials while still preserving many of the Jordan 4's signature elements. The supportive TPU wings, which integrate with the lacing system, now wrap around the entire shoe.
The all-black sneaker has a design that sets it apart. It features a nubuck leather material, complemented by the white Jumpman and Nike Air branding on the tongue and heel.
This "Black Cat" concept, first introduced on the Air Jordan 4 in 2006, has become a highly sought-after design among sneaker enthusiasts. Originally released alongside a "Pure Money" iteration, the "Black Cat" moniker was inspired by one of Michael Jordan's nicknames from his playing days.
The concept has since been applied to other Air Jordan models, but the original Air Jordan 4 remains the most coveted version, with recent retro releases selling for an average of nearly $1,000 on the resale market.
In the near future, another lineup of the iconic Air Jordan 4 RM is expected to hit the market. Among these upcoming variations, the "Black Cat" iteration has generated considerable hype and is anticipated to be the most coveted of the bunch.
