Nike Air Force 1 Displays 'Stadium Green' on Patent Leather

Air Force 1 toebox/mudguard

Nike has always been known for its iconic sneakers, and the Air Force 1 is no exception. Originally released in 1982, this classic shoe has been a mainstay in the sneaker world for decades. Over the years, Nike has released countless iterations of the Air Force 1, but none have been quite as eye-catching as the patent leather versions.

The last time we saw Nike use patent leather on the Air Force 1 was in 2022, when they collaborated with Undefeated for a series of limited-edition releases. These sneakers featured bold colorways and intricate designs, making them a must-have for any sneakerhead.

Now, as we head into the warmer months, Nike is bringing back the patent leather look with a simple two-toned colorway. The classic tone-on-white color-blocking is used to great effect, with the patent leather adding a sheen that instantly catches the eye. The all-white upper may seem subdued at first glance, but it actually draws even more attention to the shoe's unique texture.

The pop of Stadium Green on the Swoosh, heel-tab, and translucent outsole is a bold move by Nike, but it pays off in spades. This small touch of color commands attention and makes the shoe stand out even more. It's the kind of detail that will have people doing double-takes as you walk down the street.

Of course, the real question is whether this is just the beginning of Nike's all-patent AF1 releases. Given the popularity of the Undefeated collabs and the success of this simple but striking colorway, we can only hope that Nike has more in store for us this Spring/Summer 2024. Whether they opt for bold colors or stick with the classic white-on-white look, we're sure that any all-patent AF1s will be a hit with sneakerheads around the world.
