In November, adidas launched the Consortium Cup, a month-long competition that matched up 16 well-known global stores in a bracket-style tournament. The winning store would have the opportunity to create limited edition designs.
Sneaker Politics, located in Lafayette, has now unveiled their unique version of the beloved adidas Samba as they advance to the semi-finals. The release of this collaboration is set for Wednesday.
Using the primary colors found on the color wheel, a high-quality assortment of fabrics fills the upper portion of the brand's prototype-inspired design. Featuring a gleaming blue nylon base layer, the mudguard and quarter are adorned with navy-tinted suedes, while the tongue boasts a similarly fuzzy texture and a vibrant green treatment.
Accompanied by cream-colored laces and tongue tabs bearing both brand logos, a bold red shade breathes life into the leather profile 3-Stripes and the heel tab, which sit atop a timeless gum outsole.
Embossed with golden "POLITICS" lettering on each outer heel, the inner lining and insole are adorned with a playful leopard print pattern, reminiscent of the textiles popular in the 1970s and 1980s.
The highly anticipated Sneaker Politics and adidas Samba "Consortium Cup" is set to drop at Sneaker Politics stores on November 18th, with an online release scheduled for November 19th. Priced at $120, this exclusive collaboration is already generating a buzz. Get a closer look at the sneakers with these detailed images above.
