There are ongoing rumors about the release of more Protro editions from the collection of signature models by the late Kobe Bryant. The most recent speculation involves a Nike Kobe 8 Performance Retro adorned with butterflies.
In August, Vanessa Bryant and Nike introduced the Nike Kobe 8 Protro "Halo", a fresh and clean version of Kobe Bryant's eighth sneaker. This collaboration marked the beginning of a continuous "Halo" collection, with rumors suggesting that the Kobe 9 will receive the same treatment in 2024.
However, before that happens, it appears that the partnership will release the Kobe 8 "Mambacita." Although not officially confirmed by the Kobe Bryant Estate or Nike, Inc., images of the shoe have surfaced on social media through trusted sources.
Sporting a sleek black and white color scheme, the yet-to-be-released Kobe 8 Protro pays homage to its original 2012 design. However, in keeping with the rest of Bryant's "Performance Retro" collection, the shoes are expected to undergo some modifications to cater to the needs of contemporary athletes.
Notably, the latest Nike Kobe sneakers feature eye-catching golden profile swooshes and butterfly graphics adorning the mesh upper. This artistic touch serves as a tribute to Gianna "Gigi" Bryant, who tragically passed away alongside her father in January 2020. By blending elements from the original Kobe 8 with modern updates, this pair offers a perfect fusion of nostalgia and innovation.
Nike SNKRS release information for the upcoming Spring 2024 has yet to be officially announced by the brand. However, it is expected that this will change in the near future.
While we are waiting for the 'butterfly' Kobe 8 Protro, we may spare some time to review the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 in 'Saturn Gold' color.
