New Balance 'Reimagined' 550 Sneakers in Worn Style

In its quest to redefine the meaning of "Reimagined", Jordan Brand has encountered a singular interpretation within the sneaker community.

This newfound understanding has been solidified by the success of the Air Jordan 1 "Lost And Found" and the upcoming Air Jordan 3 "White Cement" in 2023. The process of incorporating a vintage, weathered aesthetic has now become synonymous with this buzzword, extending its influence to all brands.

New Balance is not hesitant to apply the same treatment to its beloved 1980s basketball staple. The New Balance 550, once a highly sought-after low-top sneaker with a retro aesthetic, is now being introduced in a worn, pre-loved style, featuring soiled soles and aged leather. Taking it a step further, NB is intentionally removing paint from the slanted-N logo, solidifying the design concept of this widely popular model.

The "Reimagined" vision has been applied to three color options: white/red, white/grey, and white/brown. These unique designs will be available for purchase at New Balance's online store and select retailers in the near future, priced at $130 each.
