Nike is reflecting on their past achievements from over a decade ago as the Year of the Dragon approaches once again. Just like the other 11 animals in the Chinese Zodiac, this auspicious event only occurs every 12 years. As a result, Nike is releasing a follow-up to the KD 4's previous homage to the powerful sign.
Instead of replicating the 2012 original, Nike has chosen to take a completely different approach with the Nike KD 4 "Year of the Dragon 2.0". Moving away from the cool colors of its predecessor, the follow-up version showcases a predominantly cream and off-white design.
The adjacent branding, raised embroidery, and pattern underneath the strap's striking red Swoosh are accented with brown.
Adding a final touch, a dragon motif is boldly displayed on the heel, intertwining over and under the slightly oversized checkmark.
Take a sneak peek at the Nike KD 4 "Year of the Dragon 2.0" right now. With its distinctive concept, these sneakers are expected to be released on Nike SNKRS and maybe even at a few chosen stores around February 2024.
Of course, this is not the only Nike edition for Chinese New Year. Yesterday, we wrote that Nike Pegasus 40 will also release a new version to celebrate Chinese New Year.
