At the tender age of seven, Rayssa Leal captured the internet's attention when she effortlessly executed a heel flip off a flight of stairs, donning a vibrant blue fairy costume complete with wings.
Since then, she has continued to amaze audiences at the X Games and even clinched a Silver Medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Now, at the age of 15, this prodigious skateboarder is on the brink of launching a special collaboration involving the beloved SB Dunk Low sneakers, which have long been cherished by the skateboarding community.
The initial concept art showcased a central design featuring a blend of purple, blue, and pink colors Nike sneakers.
However, the official preview images present a more neutral color scheme. The colorful elements are primarily concentrated on the bright purple tongue tabs with the "Deep Royal Blue" shades highlighting the medial tongue and inner lining.
The tumbled leather swooshes continue the vibrant tones from the Pantone wheel, with the medial sections featuring "Vivid Purple" and the lateral swooshes reverting back to the dominant dark blue contrast of the upper.
Designed with ramps, guardrails, and uneven sidewalks in mind, the silhouette of this shoe features a generously cushioned tongue and rope laces, which are sure to please the ever-growing fanbase of the sport.
The base layer of the shoe is made of a clean, white leather, while the quarter panel is adorned with monogram detailing. This highlights the beautifully textured tan overlays that can be found on the mudguard, quarter, and heel counter.
Adding to the youthful spirit of the shoe, a trio of smiley faces is depicted on the beaded dubrae, while Leal's own logo is embroidered in a vibrant purple onto the heel overlay.
Anticipated to make its entrance in the spring of 2024, the Rayssa Leal x Nike SB Dunk Low is generating quite the buzz. Although specific information regarding its release is still forthcoming, sneak peeks of the pair can be enjoyed in exclusive images.
