Adidas Basketball and basketball star Donovan Mitchell have announced an upcoming basketball camp in Los Angeles from June 28th to 30th.
The "Spida Elite Camp" will gather some of the nation's top high school guards and promising talents who may have previously been overlooked. The camp aims to showcase Mitchell's dedication and determination, which have driven his success and helped him overcome challenges.
Mitchell, nicknamed "Spida," will lead the camp alongside a team of NBA coaches, providing instruction and competition for the attending players. The camp's timing coincides with the release of Mitchell's latest signature shoe, the D.O.N. Issue #6, which features enhanced lockdown and lightweight, responsive cushioning.
Mitchell's journey with Adidas began in 2015 when he signed a rookie contract with the Utah Jazz. It wasn't until 2018 that he received his own signature shoe.
Though the "D.O.N." name may suggest it's an abbreviation for Donovan, it actually stands for his personal motto, "Determination Over Negativity." When launching his first shoe, Mitchell expressed his desire to make the product accessible to all people.
Creating an accessible and relatable basketball shoe was the goal when working with Adidas. The latest D.O.N. Issue #5, released in three distinct colorways, continues the futuristic aesthetic with its sleek, elliptical design. Tailored to support the player's dynamic lateral movements, the asymmetrical upper construction is a key feature. Anticipation builds for the upcoming release of the D.O.N. Issue #6, which promises further innovations.
