Last year, adidas held its first-ever Consortium Cup, a tournament that brought together 16 retailers from around the world to compete for the title of champion. In the end, it was UK-based boutique Offspring that emerged victorious, beating out the other participants with their unique take on adidas' retro basketball silhouettes.
Since then, adidas has been paying tribute to some of the other retailers that took part in the tournament by releasing their designs to a wider audience. And now, it's END. Clothing's turn to shine.
For their Consortium Cup design, END. has chosen to work on the Centennial Lo, a classic sneaker that first made its debut in the 1980s. But rather than simply rehashing the original design, END. has put their own spin on it, infusing the shoe with a theme of the "Present" moment.
The upper of the shoe is made from a bio-coated, vegan leather material that features a unique yellowing effect to give it an aged, vintage look. The outsole is also yellow, which helps to tie the design together. But that's not all - the shoe also features a variety of embossed and embroidered elements that add depth and texture to the overall design.
Perhaps most impressively, END. has made a commitment to using sustainable materials in their Consortium Cup design. The laces are made from recycled cotton, while the insoles are made from cork, a material that is both eco-friendly and durable.
To round out the design, END. has added dark green accents on the three stripes and heel tab of the shoe, which symbolize the outdoors and serve to tie the theme of the "Present" moment together.
If you're interested in getting your hands on these unique sneakers, you'll need to act fast. END. is currently running a raffle for the shoes, which will end on January 11th at 7pm Eastern Time. So head over to their site now to enter for your chance to win.
