In June of 2022, it was reported by The Athletic that PUMA had inked a lucrative endorsement deal with Scoot Henderson, who was 18 years old at the time. This deal was worth a significant amount annually. Fast forward a little over a year, and the young player, who was selected as the third overall pick by the Portland Trail Blazers, has achieved a milestone. He has become only the seventh player in NBA history to unveil his own signature shoe during his very first NBA game. This moment solidifies the whirlwind of experiences and high expectations that have surrounded Henderson in recent years. The PUMA Scoot Zero will officially hit the market this month.

Henderson's rise to fame in the world of basketball has been rapid since he decided to forgo his college eligibility and join the G-League Ignite for two seasons. Recognizing his immense potential and captivating charisma on and off the court, PUMA Basketball has positioned the young athlete, who hails from Marietta, Georgia, as one of the leading figures in the brand's basketball resurgence, alongside LaMelo Ball.

According to Nick DePaula, PUMA's previous two basketball events during All-Star Weekend served as the initial introduction between Henderson, his family, and the PUMA Basketball team. During last year's gathering in Salt Lake City, discussions began to take shape regarding the creation of the Scoot Zero. These conversations covered a range of topics, from Henderson's personal preferences and desired colorways to the shoe's eventual price points and technological features.

With a swift transition, his first signature sneaker follows suit with a myriad of distorted details that confirm the heightened midsole and tooth-like outsole triggers. Angular lines continue to anchor the mid-top model at the lenticular forefoot overlay and the updated form strip logo that showcases a bold, jet-black outline.

In a nod to the artist's southern roots, the Scoot Zero will make its debut next week in the "Georgia Peach" colorway. Bathed in a gentle "Peach Fizz" shade, the lighter of the two pink-centric hues takes center stage on the textile and mesh base layer, inner lining, and tongue. Meanwhile, a striking "Passionfruit" contrast adorns the mid-foot window, vamp, and jagged midsole. The tongue is adorned with jet-black S logos and the medial heel features an outlined formstrip. The tread extends a pastel-infused lavender hue up along the midsole, reminiscent of the MB.03's sole unit. Additionally, the vibrant peach tree leaf heel tabs and mid-foot logos hint at the Georgian connection.

The PUMA Scoot Zero will be available in the inaugural "Georgia Peach" colorway on December 15th, retailing for $100 USD. In the meantime, detailed images of the pair can be seen in this article.

By the way, LaMelo Ball's highly-anticipated collaboration with PUMA and Dexter's Laboratory is scheduled to drop on December 22nd, with price of $135.
