The Olympics is only two months away. French women’s clothing brand Ba&sh is ready to make a move. It has teamed up with women’s sneaker specialist Saysh. They have collaborated on a limited-edition style sneaker named Saba.
The Saysh x Ba&sh collaboration will launch on July 9. The sneakers will be available in two colors. One is terracotta, a brownish-red resembling a clay tennis court. The other is vibrant green. The sneakers will cost 195 pounds.
Allyson Felix is a co-founder of Saysh. She is an 11-time Olympic medalist. Felix is also a member of the International Olympic Committee.
Barbara Boccara and Sharon Krief are co-founders of Ba&sh. They said that their clothing brand represents "energy, confidence, and joy". This is why joining forces with Saysh and Felix felt like a perfect move.
“It’s been special to partner with such a standout woman who exemplifies those qualities on and off the track … and to bring Saysh to more Ba&sh women,”
The sneakers merge "1990s influences and 1970s style". Boccara and Krief say this design is city-oriented.
The sneakers are sold in a uniquely designed box. A matching pouch is also included. The sole bears a swirling infinity symbol. This symbol represents the world of opportunities for women. It also signifies the synergy between Saysh and Ba&sh.
The sneakers have the Saysh Eva sole. The sole is light, flexible and cushioned. The shoes include suede inserts. These inserts are certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG GOLD). This group encourages responsible leather production.
Recycled mesh is used on the upper part of the sneakers. The lining is made from recycled polyester. This use of materials aims to promote recycling and lower ecological impact. "Born to move," the collaboration's catchphrase, is printed on two sock pairs. The socks come in Saba colours.
Felix and her brother Wes co-founded Saysh. They noticed a market gap for women-specific sneakers. The siblings developed a lifestyle brand based on their unique designs. Their company operates with a goal to empower women, both as customers and employees.
Saysh has a Maternity Returns Policy. This policy caters to changing shoe sizes during pregnancy. It also has a customer community named Saysh+. Saysh+ offers various perks and virtual events. It also includes run clubs.
“All that matters is that when we encounter challenges, we understand how to push through, learn from these tests and, when we can, use our voice to encourage each other to question the status quo and ourselves. And there’s no reason not to wear something that makes us feel and look good while we’re doing it.”
- Felix
The Saba Sneaker is available on ba-sh.com. It is also sold in select Ba&sh stores. Certain stockists and department stores also carry it.
Ba&sh products are sold in over 70 countries. These include Europe, China, and North America. The brand has more than 320 stores. Investors such as L Catterton, Groupe Arnault, and HLD back the company. In 2022, the label earned a revenue of 310 million euros. This was a 22 percent increase from the previous year.
